Why do children often find toys so engaging? One of the reasons is that tyoys move --but what makes them move? Energy, of course!
In this Learning Unit, students will explore a variety of toys as a way of learning about sources of energy. Students will develop their understanding of energy sources by identifying, describing, classifying, investigating and safety operating familiar toys that use a variety of energy sources, including batteries, moving air and elastic bands.
In addition to investigating sources of energy, students will apply their knowledge about energy and movement to the creation of toys that move.
